I was born in Hartselle and grew up in Decatur, Alabama. After earning advanced degrees from Eastern Michigan University, I taught physical education, American history and American government for seventeen years. I returned to my studies in 1977, earning a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1980. I graduated summa cum laude and was valedictorian of my class. I am a Master in the Bio Energetic Synchronization Technique. After practicing my profession in Marietta and Swainsboro, Georgia, I moved to Athens, Georgia to write and practice part time.
In Swainsboro, I was chairman of the pastor parish relations committee, president of the Rotary Club, Lake Luck Civic Club, and Swainsboro Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce at various times. I was chairman of the Clean Community Commission in 1990 91, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Federal Savings Bank of Swainsboro from 1988 to 1992. In 1996 I was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club.
My article, "Growing up with World War Two", was published in the Old Morgan County Magazine in 2000. In 2002 an excerpt from my book, THE BLANKENSCHIPF CURSE, was published in O, Georgia!, "a collection of Georgia's newest and most promising writers." I am currently writing a novel entitled Belly of The Whale.
